The “monochromes” arises from a gesture, or rather from the repetition of a gesture, that of colouring the sheet of paper with a pen and continuing to colour it, until the surface is completely saturated and it lacerating in ever different ways and in ever different places. The result is a square of colour that is interspersed with gaps that allow us to glimpse the plot of the paper, an internal look, a tear, a torment, a pain.
